Connect External Storage To RHEL

In this article, USB flash drive is used as external storage for demonstration.

1. The external storage should have exFAT or FAT32 file system.

   • NTFS need to download extra driver in RHEL 10.

   • You may format the external storage to change file system in Windows OS.

2. Check external storage name in Windows OS

   • Example: STORAGE DEVICES - LAWRENCE

3. Shut down the RHEL

4. In Oracle VirtualBox Manager windows, click Settings --> USB --> USB 3.0 (xHCI) Controller --> OK

5. Power on RHEL

6. In RHEL window, select Devices --> USB

7. Tick the external storage that match name in Step 2

   • Example: STORAGE DEVICES 

8. Open Files and click on external storage name to access it.

9. Eject the external storage by click eject icon in RHEL

   • Don't need to eject in Windows OS.
